Stroll with Santa

Photos with Santa will go until 3:30 p.m. at The Elements while holiday music sings in your ears near Fong’s Pizza. Letter writing will be at District 36 Wine Bar & Grille until 4:30 p.m. Cozy up at Winestyles for their holiday showcase wine tasting anytime from 2-6 p.m.

Go back in time with nostalgia when you ride a horse and carriage wagon through the beautiful streets of The District, complete with smiling faces and jolly places, like Mainstream Boutique, Blond Genius, or Spavia. The District shops dazzle with holiday lights and atop a horse-drawn carriage, the views are sure to impress.

After riding in a “one-horse-open-sleigh,” let your kids decorate a cookie with their favorite holiday cheer at Taco Hangover. While the kids enjoy a cookie, make sure to check out the unique food choices Taco Hangover has at their disposal.

Walk down to Jethro’s BBQ or Fong’s Pizza to decorate an ornament to give your tree at home a special new dazzle. Or, take $5 to AR Workshop and create a wood slice ornament. The ornament decorating events last all day.

Cold Stone Creamery isn’t just for the warmer months; mix up a new and delicious concoction during Dazzling in The District. The fun doesn’t stop there; Cold Stone Creamery offers chocolates and candies that will leave your mouth watering, and if you choose to share- your friends and family will cherish the delectable gift. Santa’s elf will be making an appearance and you can decorate apples with the elf at 3:00 p.m. If ice cream is too cold for your tastebuds, head to Whiskey River, where you can drink a steaming cup of hot chocolate, all day long!

Mainstream Boutique is always dazzling, but exceptionally so during the holidays. Still need to cross off some people on your Christmas shopping list? Find cozy socks, fitted denim, soft wool textures, jackets, coats, scarves, shirts and more at Mainstream Boutique. Plus, Michelle is there to help you make the perfect purchase, whether it’s for yourself or someone you love. While you shop, the kids can enjoy Story-time with Santa’s Elf at 4:00 p.m.

For your hot-sauce-loving friends, pop over to Lola’s Kitchen for their gifts, where you can purchase over 6 different flavors of hot sauce, now featured in Hy-vee! Lola’s will also be offering free chai tea and a snowflake decorating station.

The fun doesn’t end yet! At 5 p.m, walk to Innovators Academy where you’ll be able to watch the kids exercise their brains with Santa. Innovators Academy is new to The District and helps kids focus on creative projects, being a kid, and practicing new methods in STEAM fields (science, technology, engineering, art, design and mathematics). Annie Barrows, owner and innovator, has a passion for helping all kids become innovators and creative problem solvers.
