YogaSix: Something for Everyone

YogaSix: Something for Everyone

Inspired by the New Urbanism design of Prairie Trail, with trails, parks and common green spaces, entrepreneur Taryn Henderson is bringing a new yoga and fitness studio to The District.

"I love the idea of a community designed around healthier lifestyles, where people walk and bike to shops, restaurants and community events," she says. "There is so much going on in The District! We think this is a community that will really support an alternative fitness option.

The yoga and fitness studio, YogaSix, is expected to open Spring 2020. It joins several other athletic facilities in The District, including CampusCycle spin studio and Pure Barre, which offers strength training incorporating the use of a ballet barre.

"We know fitness is important to Prairie Trail residents and are excited to have YogaSix join a growing list of fitness options in The District," says Ashley Johnson, director of marketing for DRA Properties, developer of Prairie Trail.

For Beginners to Experienced Practitioners

A previous franchisee of three Sun Tan City salons in the Des Moines area, Henderson was looking for a new franchise opportunity when she was introduced to YogaSix. "I really love yoga so was drawn to YogaSix," Henderson says. "I think there are a lot of people who don't necessarily see themselves doing yoga, on up to more experienced practitioners. It's a really welcoming, empowering and fun environment."

YogaSix offers six different core class types, from hot and powerful to slow and mindful. They also offer beginner and sculpt classes. There are over 410 YogaSix locations opening across the country, according to Henderson.

YogaSix will be located at 1510 SW Vintage Parkway, Ankeny. For more information:
