Cold Stone Creamery

The new Cold Stone Creamery is known for its top-quality ice cream, made on location and customized for patrons with mix-ins on a frozen granite slab at the time of order. Cold Stone also offers ice cream shakes, pies, cookie sandwiches, smoothies, shakes and coffee drinks. Cold Stone partners with Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory to offer chocolate and other confectionary products.     

District 36 Wine Bar & Grille

You’ll definitely want to check out District 36 Wine Bar & Grille in The District at Prairie Trail in Ankeny. District 36 offers fine cuisine, from starters like Lobster Deviled Eggs to a selection of pasta, steaks, seafood, sandwiches and salads. Cozy, comfortable…come on in! Locally owned and operated by the same couple that brought you the renowned Urban Grill, a Des Moines favorite. 

Flavory Bistro

This locally-owned restaurant is a favorite boasting bushels of fans already. Flavory offers fresh healthy choices of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free fare. Salads, gyros and paninis for lunch are replaced by shared plates and specials for dinner, including Seafood Paella, Mediterranean Steak, Chicken Cordon Bleu, and Pasta Marinara. Lisa and Hector Morales opened the restaurant in March 2016 and continue to surprise and delight with unique menu items daily.

Fong’s Pizza

Fong’s = fun! Loyal Fongolians rave about the unique style of pizzas and apps, vegan and gluten-free menu options, salads and desserts, plus Fong’s tiki bar, which serves 40 beers on tap. Best known for its Asian-inspired menu items, favorite Fong’s pizza flavors include crab rangoon, Thai chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and Fongolian beef.

Jethro’s BBQ LakeHouse

Hail to the very first restaurant in The District! Jethro’s BBQ LakeHouse features its “world famous” menu – house smoked meats, BBQ sandwiches, steak burgers like the Adam Emmeneker as seen on Man Vs. Food, creole pasta, smokehouse jambalaya, and Buster’s big chocolate cake, a gut buster for sure. Come hungry, my friends. 

Lola’s Fine Kitchen

This family owned and operated bistro boasts all-natural recipes full of exotic flavor. Lola’s one-of-a-kind Filipino-Pakistani fusion of family recipes means meals that are exotic yet familiar, healthy and delicious. Favorites include the lamb and beef kebab bowl, tandoori chicken bowl, jeepney roti, and samosa. Or create your own bowl with a selection of fine fresh ingredients. 

Magee’s Irish Pub & Eatery
