The District at Prairie Trail hosts a variety of events that are fun for the whole family. Enjoy our annual events that offer year-round celebrations of community, music, shopping, and cheer!

Here’s a glimpse into the exciting events we have lined up for you:

 

 

Sips & Songs: Join us under the summer sky for an evening of live music, refreshing drinks, and good company. Sips & Songs is the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of The District every Friday – starting May 30th!

 

 

 

 

 

Nash Nights in The District: Get your boots ready for Nash Nights, where we bring a little country to Ankeny. Experience the best of country music on The District stage in June and July!

 

 

 

 

Thursday Night Acoustics: Wind down your week with intimate acoustic performances on the many District restaurant patios. Sit back, relax, and let the soothing melodies of local artists serenade you into the weekend.

 

 

 

 

Trick or Treat in The District: Bring the whole family for a spooktacular evening of trick-or-treating in The District. Dress up in your favorite costumes and enjoy a safe and festive Halloween celebration with us.

 

 

 

 

 

Dazzling in The District: As the holiday season approaches, join us for Dazzling in The District the first Saturday of December —a magical celebration to kick off the most wonderful time of the year! Experience the sparkle of holiday lights, festive performances, and heartwarming community spirit in Ankeny’s favorite holiday destination.

EVENT POLICIES

  • No firearms or weapons of any kind allowed.
  • No pets in event grounds.
  • No outside food or beverages. Take-out from The District is allowed!
  • No smoking inside event grounds.
  • Bags limited to 12x12x6″
  • Bags subject to search.
  • Lawn chairs are allowed for certain events. See event details for designated chair policies. 

FAQS

Will there be food and beverages available? 

Yes! During Summer events such as Sips & Songs and Nash Nights we will have two bars open as well as food trucks in the event grounds. Take-out is welcome from the local District restaurants, food only!

Does the outdoor bar take card?

Yes, all major card are accepted at the bars during events.

Can I bring a chair?

Lawn chairs and blankets are allowed to certain events. Please refer to the event  posting for more details. Designated chair areas will change by event. 

Are events kid friendly?

All ages are welcome! We will have a kids play area set up at every Sips & Songs event. We encourage families to attend our events with which you feel comfortable. 

What if it rains?

NASH Nights Ticketing FAQ:

  • Will there be single day tickets?
    • Yes! Single day tickets can be found on our website.
  • What do the tickets include?
    • A Nash Nights Series Ticket includes (1) ticket to each of the three shows on June 5, June 26 and July 24th.
    • Single Show Tickets includes (1) ticket to the individual show you have selected.
    • Single Show VIP Ticket includes (1) ticket to the individual show you have selected as well as access to our VIP tent that includes an air conditioned restroom trailer, private bar, patio furniture as well as two drink tickets that can be redeemed at any of our onsite bars.

Concert Info:

  • What time do gates open?
    • Gate will open at 5:30 p.m. and the entertainment will run from 6 – 9 p.m.
  • What happens if it rains?
    • As they all say “the show must go on,” we will make every effort to continue the show rain or shine. In the event of any severe weather we have plans and policies in place to make sure guests are safe.
  • Where is first aid?
    • A first aid kit will be available in the Pavilion, where beverages are sold in the park.
  • Where is the lost and found?
    • The lost and found can be found in the Pavilion, where beverages are sold in the park.
  • Do kids get in free?
    • All guests over the age of 2 years old will need a ticket.
  • Are pets allowed?
    • No pets are allowed but service animals are allowed inside the event site.
  • Can I bring a lawn chair?
    • Lawn chairs are allowed in to the concert in a designated area.
  • Will there be ATMs?
    • There is an ATM in the park and others located around The District. Both cash and credit cards are accepted to purchase food and drink in The District.
  • Are there food and beverage vendors?
    • Yes! There are limited food vendors available inside the concert area and take out is available at other restaurants within The District. No outside drinks are permitted into the park but there will be non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages available for purchase inside the park.
  • All ticket sales are final, no refunds.

Festival Rules:

  • What’s not allowed in festival grounds?
    • No outside beverages are allowed.
    • No outside food, unless from The District restaurants.
    • No firearms or weapons of any kind allowed.
    • No pets allowed.
    • No smoking inside the event.
  • Can I leave and come back?
    • Wristbands will be given when you event the festival grounds with your ticket. In order to get back into the event you must have your wristband on your wrist.
  • What kind of bags are allowed?
    • Bag size is limited to 12x12x6” in festival grounds. Bags are subject to search.
  • How early can I arrive?
    • Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for the event, but you are welcome to visit our shops and restaurants at The District any time before.
  • Are safety measures put in place?
    • Law enforcement will be on the grounds throughout the entirety of the concert and afterwards as well as private security. A First Aid kit is available and can be located in the Pavilion. There are safety and security precautions in  place for all events in The District in case of any emergency.

Public Transportation:

  • Where do I park?
    • There are plenty of parking spots and parking lots provided in The District.
  • Is there public transportation?
    • There is no public transportation to the event but we highly encourage you to use Ride Sharing apps such as Uber, Lyft, etc to get here and back home safely.
  • What hotels are nearby?
    • There are three hotels on-site in The District: Residence Inn by Marriott, Tru and Home2 Suites
  • Do I have to purchase a parking spot?
    • All parking is free in The District.
